What is FRYSC?

Family Resource/Youth Services Centers have been created as part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act. The purpose of the Centers are to help students succeed in schools by assisting children and families to meet needs that impact the education process. This is done by providing services at the Center, in the schools and by linking families to agencies in the community.

The FRYSC has a combined advisory council that consists of 1/3 parents, 1/3 school staff and 1/3 community members and school-aged students. The advisory council meets bi-monthly starting January on the second Friday of each month at 12:00 pm in the FRYSC office. The meetings are open to the public, and parents and community members are encouraged to attend.

If you wish to serve on the advisory council or want more information, contact Jamie Mills at 606-337-4388.

Who can use the FRYSC?

FRYSC services are provided at no charge to families with children who attend Pineville Independent School or to families with young children within the Pineville School District. The FRYSC office is located in the elementary building, and you will have to sign in at the office to visit the FRYSC office.
